This is another commissioned portrait. This one is of my neighbors two sons, Devon & Keiran. I see these kids (and many others) playing street hockey about 6 days out of 7 and always enjoy the sight and sound! They also play ice hockey on competitive teams and are very active and energetic. I've watched them grow up and was thrilled when their mom asked me to paint this as a surprise for their dad's birthday and I think I can say that he was thrilled to receive it.
This is a commissioned portrait of a very beautiful young lady painted from one of her senior photos. She had a very soft, pretty look so I tried to keep the colors somewhat subdued.
This is based loosely on a photo of my sister-in-law and niece taken during an afternoon of sightseeing in the French Quarter. Rose was dragging a bit by then. Miriam was wearing dark sunglasses, so I couldn't see her eyes in the photo. The eyes I "gave" her are not as pretty as those she actually possesses. Sorry about that, Miriam! The point, however, was to try to capture a moment between the two.
